About

Welcome to SENDMattersUK. I hope you find the blog to be relevant and useful.

I work as Head of SEND for a Multi Academy Trust, having worked as a SENDCO in mainstream primary and secondary settings. I also work for the Education Endowment Foundation as their Associate for SEND. I have recently published ‘The Lone SENDCO: Questions and answers for the busy SENDCO‘, which aims to provide quick answers to 300 questions that SENDCOs will find useful.

My consultancy work within SEND sees me complete work regularly with Whole Education, with the Church of England’s Foundation for Educational Leadership and with the National Institute of Teaching. I work as Real Group’s Lead Professional Partner for SEND.

I also speak at MAT or Local Authority conferences/school INSET Days and am available to conduct reviews of SEND provision in individual schools.

I am currently co-writing my second book with Jessica Kingey Publishers, aimed at supporting parents of children with SEND.

I have worked in schools in London, Hertfordshire and Hong Kong, as well as working alongside schools in Portsmouth and Sheffield to support their provision for children with SEND.

SENDMattersUK should be a place to share thoughts about how to ensure the successful inclusion of children with special educational needs and disabilities in mainstream schools. I hope it meets this aim. All constructive feedback is welcome. Thank you for visiting the page.
